Cathedral of Light

Inspired by the ancient redwoods of Muir Woods National Monument, Cathedral of Light reflects the profound experience of standing beneath some of nature's tallest and oldest living beings. Looking upward, the soaring trunks resemble the columns of a grand cathedral, drawing the eye toward a canopy illuminated by sunlight and vibrant color.

I painted this work to capture the sense of wonder, peace, and reverence I felt while walking through the forest. The dramatic perspective emphasizes the immense scale of the trees, while the expressive textures and luminous palette evoke the shifting light that transforms the woodland into a sacred space. More than a landscape, Cathedral of Light is a celebration of nature's ability to inspire awe and remind us of our connection to the natural world.
